WHO ARE WE TO SAY?
By: Cedric McClester
Same *** marriage
We realize
Isn’t acceptable in
Some folks eyes
They view it as unholy
And also unwise
But it’s homophobia
That we should despise
Who are we to say
Who they should love
There’s only one judge
And it’s God above
Same *** couples
Share a common bond
With other lovers
Who correspond
To love’s imperative
That has spawned
A feeling that’s deep
And goes far beyond
Who are we to say
Who they should love
There’s only one judge
And it’s God above
Who give us
The right to say
What they should do
Anyway
If there’s a penalty
For them to pay
We won’t sit in judgment
On their judgment day
Who are we to say
Who they should love
There’s only one judge
And it’s God above
Those who oppose
LGBT
Simply because
They disagree
Have a right
To their opinions
But that doesn’t mean
They have dominion
Who are we to say
Who they should love
There’s only one judge
And it’s God above
