The night was dark,
faded shadows
of midnight blue.
For the moon
refuses to shine
upon me, where
the willow tree
weeps bitterly.
Can't you see
I'm lonely?
Oh Harvest Moon,
so high above
that broken diamond
necklace.
I wonder why you
keep away, leaving
me so lonely,
On lonely nights
when only the stars
shine brighter.
Oh please,shine on
upon me,
Do not hide,
Oh Harvest Moon...
