Phonetic Affair
Words alight my thinking like a flare
I wield my pen and set to work
Entangled in a phonetic affair
World goes roving on without a care
As shades of amber yield to night
Words alight my thinking like a flare
When I dream sometimes the muse no longer there
Made by separation dearer
I try to summon her in prayer
Muse glides in to thought, her words are near
Enter streams and dreams of lucid fire
Words alight my thinking like a flare
I’ve been here sat all day upon my chair
Chasing herds of words inside my head
Entangled in a phonetic affair
Muse’s thoughts I love to share
Her insights deep and pure and rare
Words light up my thinking like a flare
I am entangled in a phonetic affair
