Nov 2016
all we are is seasoned revolutionaries
like a sun
even though the intentions
were to beat us down
cook us down
own us down
slowly and steadily
deplete our constitution
our bodies
minds and families
into something else
other
than what we were
where we were from
origins
bleached white
like slaves cotton laundry
quarters spilled onto fertile land
becoming many mansions
