Tall live Oak trees tower over the landscape. Willow trees reach out and touch the ground with it's limbs. Children run in between the branches at play. A warm breeze blows across the fields that are ripe with corn and cotton. People sit by a river bank with a hook in the water watching the deep dark water flow by. Families gather to cook out and share stories as generations pass on from one to the next. The sun rises and sets gently as the day passes with ease of life. The heart of the summer brings out the best of life in the south.
While there are many beautiful places, the slow pace of southern life in the summer is something to experience.
