Death is a sombre companion
I try to shake him off
but she follows me all the time
and yes death is a him and then a her
multi-sexed death is so final in its conversation
no matter what I dream up
death laughs and all I can do is
try to laugh as well
male or female, death swallows us all
deep throated and belly laughter
we say a final goodbye.
