she
watched him
as he did the breakfast-dishes
walked out the door
not noticing her face

she
went out
looking everywhere
for a peace of hope on a face

he
riding his car
did not know
what the word 'love'
meant

me
seeing her face
not noticing the meaning
of the things that didn't change

he
coming home
only asks what she made for dinner

she
watching him eat
couldn't explain
why her food turned cold

evening
even colder then the day before
and she
embraced
her nothingness
