But you don’t see me.
No.
I don’t think you ever will.
Your light shines brighter than anything else I have seen,
and I am but a mere shadow casted by many other bodies in a crowd.
I do not reflect your glow, unlike other girls.
I am not one of them.

I see you
even when you try your hardest to blend in.
I see your quiet stance and darting eyes.
I see the way you bury your face into paper fantasies, and gasp at every plot twist.
I see you walk timidly across the hallways with an air of subtle indifference.

Just one glance”, I begged.
A chance.

We were in the same room one day,
and I saw you.
You lifted your head up-
I took a breath.
Your brown eyes locked in with mine.

You looked at me
and your face was blank.
A nonchalant stare,
a coincidental glimpse.

See me” I willed.
See me” my heart echoed.

You looked away.
