The Fire Burns
Poems
Oct 2016
The Days and Nights
I gaze enthralled
Into her eye
As it slowly closes
On the day
And I am embraced
By the night
The made up sky
With pinks and blues
Vanish
Replaced
By the blackness
Freckled with
Starlight
Pinpricks
Engulfed in
Shadow
Until my
Mistress
Is on the rise
Luna
Her golden face
Rises along with the tides
Tonight she wears
A Cheshire cat smile
I watch move across the sky
Until I close my eyes
The rooster crows
And I am alight
Once again in
Her light
As sol begins her trip
Across the sky
And our lives
Providing light and warmth
