Transplant
I met a man
With failing kidneys
He was struggling hard
To catch his breath
He expects to wait
Five years for a transplant
Itβs dialysis until then
Dialysis
And I think
What if this day becomes my last?
What should I have done
Differently?
Could I have helped more?
Could I be kinder?
As kind as he was
To me?
Perhaps he is showing me
How to live
Because he knows
How to face his own death
