Hurricane

Darkened skies bleed as they prepare
Matthew is said to be quite a scare
With so many lives destroyed elsewhere
What hope do we have for Florida but despair
The wind is picking up now the trees how they bend
With branches and fences breaking without mend
Waters break through barriers flood our streets
Sand bags have no aid there is no retreat.
The storm is raging the winds are fierce
And with the destruction come the tears
The skies are clearing now the winds die down
And with the all clear we can walk around
To witness such chaos is a sight to behold
Entire neighborhoods lost to the cold
The cold water covering life like a sea
Bringing out with it pain and misery
the skies may have cleared the rain is suspended
But the work in Florida begins as it starts mending.
