The End of the Passenger Pigeon
The sky once turned purple and grey
untold billions of them streamed by
due to the ignorance of man
they no longer fill the sky
hunted them to extinction
for fun , food and as a pest
what once was very common
they have all been laid to rest
How could there be so many
and now not a single one flies
hopeful man has learned
or one day it will be our cries
