No Wing
Getting down on one of
Two bruised knees
Asking for the hand of some
Angel too good for a
Mortal man.
One step closer to the
Beginning of the journey.
Fingers charred from holding
His heart too close to the
Midsummer sun.
Atheist prayers to gods as
Deaf as stones.
Well, illusions wither and break.
Falling stars are the size of
Grains of sand.
I sometimes hate knowing.
