I never meant to hurt you
she said
I always have loved you
As she got up from her chair
Leaving a lit cigarette in the tray

I loved you she said
I loved you
With her back toward me
I whispered I'm sorry

Wiped the tears from my eyes
And she was gone
Gone forever

She loved me
I was no good
She really loved me
I never treated her like I should

Learning love is more then a word
Is the hardest memory I will ever have
Learning how hard words hit the soul
Is a lesson I will always know.
