One March Morning
As dawn cracks open brand new day
With somber light and quietude
It's gray newspaper mâché paste face
Might challenge hopeful attitude
One blackbird high in naked tree
One on the garden *** below
Surveying mulch for garden seed
What more do those glass black beads know?
Attention turns to perk coffee
As mantle chime ignites the heart
To think the rest of globe drinks tea
My random thoughts so far apart
I sometimes worry ‘bout myself
Birds, coffee, and philosophy?
With age the neurons seize -- it's hell!
I ask you now, “Please where were we”?
Oh yes, the morning through my eyes
Back to the little window birds
My, I should clean these panes, they're grimed
Go on, you can call me a nerd
