Muddy waves crash
further out
turn to green
and then to blue
on the horizon

As I sink
the clear blue
fades to twilight
and then to inky
blackness

Twinkling bioluminescence
is the only light
the pressure builds
I am being squeezed
in a giant fist

Suddenly
compacted
as my final
bubbled breaths
ascend toward the sun

I am washed clean
and merge into
the depths
and darkness
of the ocean floor
