The questions....

Was I a fool?
     To believe I would marry for life
     And watch gray hairs grow in as your wife.

Am I stubborn?
     To rebuke insincere words that are said
     From men whose only plan is to get you in bed.

Am I missing out?
     Being selfless and placing my needs all on hold
     Providing shelter and love 'til my daughter grows old.


The Answer.....

What I am is a woman
As God designed me to be.
To desire one man
And nurture family.

I am courageous and bold
Dismissing lies that are sold.
I am strong;  I am wise
And will not compromise.


The result.....

I am proud with my head held high in the sky
My truth now shines in my sweet daughter's eyes.
