The Porch Swing
Swing, swing, swing
follow the flow with my legs
that is what the rhythm begs
So calm and soothing
Creak, creak, creak
while I let my soul drift
as the screws and bolts shift
I find comfort in each squeak
Rock, rock, rock
a habit forming pleasure
my every afternoon treasure
In all weather to here I flock
Watch, watch, watch
as the world goes passing by
a rainy day can get me high
Back and forth, like the game of catch
Sway, sway, sway
as my feet brush the floor
away my anxieties do soar
All my troubles are gone today
