******* Jacks and Nu-Grape soda -
beneath a rain protected Willow Tree
The rush of water running down Empire Boulevard
Steam coming off the front yard
Waiting for the Sun but the storm set in
Heat lightning lit the night till I was called -
to bed , the day quietly came to an end
Cicadas and occasional automobiles ,
tree frog voices with yellow porch lights
My silhouetted Willow escape waiting for the -
morrow* ....
