Once I was terrified
                                  of the dark
no sleep was to be had
                                       frightening thoughts
would enter my mind
                                      coupled with the creeks
and eerie sounds
                             of an older house
even saying my prayers
                                          wasn't enough to
override my weak & youthful mind
                                                               eureka
a game changer was introduced in
                                                             my life
which enabled me to rest in peace
                                                            eyes closed
and dream of things good and kind
                                                           a compact
size NIGHT LIGHT was just enough
                                                            to balance
my sleep rhythm and lend more
                                                     consistency to
my childhood days.
