You said I wasn’t inspired
But noticed I never tired
You thought I had no direction
My footsteps arrived at being accomplished
You thought you knew me
Education played a part in being a high note
But my sentences and words surprised you as they continued to float
Again, you thought you knew me
I achieved beyond measure
You are still looking for that secrete treasure
You thought you knew me
I stand with head held high without conviction
Your life, you are still living on treason
There’s a time to speak out, and a time to be silent
Yet your understanding says little
But all you want to do is meddle
You thought you knew me
I sometimes have a civil rights voice
At times, it becomes in being my choice
You never knew me
I am a person you never met
However through my assurance, it becomes my influence
You never thought I had the quality of Am
But let me start again
In your mind you thought you knew me
But reality, I was never one you wanted to see
I am who I am supposed to be
I am what the world would like to see
But I am one that will just let be.
