Jun 2016
darkly were the eve
‘n they played in streets
torn sneaker stick ball
under twinkling lavender ~
gnats circle lampposts
blind and lost
forever beholden to
electric lies /
bats dart seemingly haphazard
plucking juicy morsels
dusky scene unfolds ~
hollering mothers
send waves of discontent
as the last player
kicks rocks
until porchlight /
