Of all that warms my heart
in the days of my childhood
you were there to nourish me

On those brisk winter mornings
when the cupboards where nearly bare
you fulfilled my needs

My old friends Earl Grey
and Orange Pekoe
never disappointed

Never to take a back seat
white Towntalk bread
lightly toasted with butter

TOAST & TEA
virtually inseparable...
my comfort food.
Those of us old enough to recall this staple diet food of essentially days gone by, but I  still love you.
