You and me were born of harmony
Catching fireflies to light the stars in your name
And then we parted
Separate ways
Separate paths into the ruins
Of cataclysm

I'm not the one smiling back
In the photo from your wedding day but
I'm happy for your soul
And the smile that you make
When I see you sitting there
In your elegant dress of white
I hope you never forget the firefly light

These streets only lead away
To parking lots full of discount shoppers
Where the pond used to be
Where we both shared pieces of ourselves
Forever contained
Never destroyed by time's passing breeze
Time blew like a hurricane
And now I'm in its eye
Reaching for the clear sky
