A city is burning.
The heat has been rising.
People are evacuating.
Fear everywhere.
Homes threatened.
Lives threatened.
Homes up in flames.
Cars driving between
forests ablaze.
Making their escape.
Smoke in the air.
But I used to live there...

I remember the sled dogs in the Winter.
And the Northern Lights dancing
in the air.
And the green forest across from our lair.
I used to live there.

But now...
the city is burning.
Homes are lost.
Families are displaced.
People are evacuating.
A city is burning.

I used to live there.
Dedicated to the 80,000 citizens of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada who had to evacuate their homes due to wildfires.
My heart goes out to you in this difficult time, and you are in my prayers.
