Crooked politicians
Are headed to Federal jail
But while awaiting sentencing
They’re still out on bail
Increasingly - if you ask me
They’re an old cliché
Judging by the numbers
Of ‘em being sent away

Try to name the politician
Who hasn’t been to jail
I betcha you can’t do it
Attempt to and you’ll fail

The President’s a failure
But he brought us back
From a big depression
That’s simply a fact
Gave us the kind of healthcare
That we used to lack
But he did nothing
Let y’all tell it
Could it be because he’s black?

Congress ain’t the answer
They’re recalcitrant and so
The one thing they seem good at
Is telling the country no

Lead pollutes the water
Let me give you a hint
Not just inside Michigan
It’s not limited to Flint
As for our infrastructure
They won’t spend one red cent
It’s crumbling all around us
But still they won’t relent

Infrastructure jobs
Could bring back the middle class
But they’re only concerned with one percent
The rest can kiss their ***

So where is this all headed
I swear I don’t know
To hell in a hand basket
Is probably where it’ll go
It should be quite obvious
Without me saying so
Believe you me - the powers that be
Will soon be eating crow

But they don’t have no shame
As we’ve come to learn
They just fiddle on
As the country continues to burns

Crooked politicians
Are headed to Federal jail
But while awaiting sentencing
They’re still out on bail
The President’s a failure
But he brought us back
From a big depression
That’s simply a fact

So where is this all headed
I swear I don’t know
To hell in a hand basket
Is probably where it’ll go
