Say it ain’t so
I don’t wanna know
That the beautiful one
Did suddenly go
Embraced so it seems
By a death or a dream
Human not machine
But heaven redeems

Somebody said
That Prince is dead
And I can’t wrap my head
Around that news
So I just refuse
To believe a word
Of what I heard

So this requiem
Is especially for him
The Beautiful One
And I’ve Jus’ begun
Pulling out all stops
To give him his props
The beautiful one
Into the setting sun

Somebody said
That Prince is dead
And I can’t wrap my head
Around that news
So I just refuse
To believe a word
Of what I heard

Even though he’s gone
His music lives on
He was so clever
It’ll last forever
And the legacy
He left you and me
Is a treasure trove
From his record grove

So this requiem
Is especially for him
The Beautiful One
And I’ve Jus’ begun
Pulling out all stops
To give him his props
The Beautiful One
Into his setting sun

Somebody said
That Prince is dead
And I can’t wrap my head
Around that news
So I just refuse
To believe a word
Of what I heard

Say it ain’t so
I don’t wanna know
That the beautiful one
Did suddenly go
Embraced so it seems
By death or a dream
Human not machine
But heaven redeems
