What you want, and what you get,
haven't managed to come together yet,
there's crossed wires, there's misinterpretation,
a mass of misguided expectation

What you get falls short of acceptance,
brings on an obsession with reluctance,
searching and fighting for the golden prize,
the one you stare at with clouded eyes

What you want has regressed
all that's left has never impressed,
you came, you saw, and walked straight out
nothing there really to write him about

To find a way to, perfectly ,,
think with feet fixed terra firmly
where days simply blend
and your mind doesn't twist and bend
no daft excuses with eyes glazed
awaken and be blindly amazed

What you want and what you get,
some of us haven't figured it out yet,
want not for much
and surprise shall become your greatest friend,
want just for wants sake
and you shall wait until the want for an end
