My son
You say; Mom, I am grown and I am coming into mine own. I smile and say I know,....

that’s the way the world goes, that’s the way the world goes.

I tell You, your childhood friends, will come and go, you can't hold on to them, You will make new friends in college, you look at me with sad eyes….

that’s the way the world goes that’s the way the world goes.

As you look at your childhood bedroom, once more, you asked Are you going to turn it in Your craft room? I tell you No, it will always be yours….

that’s the way the world goes, that’s the way the world goes.

As, I watch you leave in that sports car, that you think is great, I think is very dangerous….

that’s the way the world goes, that’s the way the world goes.

With girlfriend in the front seat, who wants to get married next year, And over my dead body, it will never happen….

that’s the way the world goes, that’s the way the world goes.

I watch you from the window, I whispered “you are still my baby boy.”

that’s the way the world goes, that’s the way the world goes
