I know you’re scared
You’re not the only one that feels that way
I don’t want to make life hard for you
But leaving me before we meet is easier for you

It’s as if being lonely is a hobby
You paint slogans on walls that I can’t see
I was hoping to see your green eyes looking at me
But you only chose the caution of yellow lines

Yellow lines
Don't cross them
That's what you said
That's why I left
Because they were really red

I see so much in you
Go ahead blame me for everything he did to you
If that’s how it has to be then I’m willing
I can take anything you want to say

I had to laugh about a hello that was a goodbye
Living life is not something that brings us closer
It seems when I knew nothing I had everything
Now I have to wonder if you ever did

Yellow lines
Don't cross them
That's what you said
That's why I left
Because they were really red
