At 3 am when sleep won't call, the mind goes places it shouldn't ought.
To past times of joy and some of pain but mostly to thoughts of future days.
For in those waves between wake and sleep, others walk through your thoughts and dreams.
Some simply pass and head on through, others kick off their travellers shoes.
They pull up a chair and in that altered state are as real as flesh in the wakeing world.
But the thoughts I like and hold most dear are the thoughts that somehow seem quite surreal.
Friends be you close or an ocean away, you wandered into my thoughts today.
