A woman who could turn a wrong and make it right
A woman who had respect and was polite
A woman who would encourage try with a reason why
Wisdom that invited understanding
Calmness through any storm
Don’t be afraid this is not an alarm

This woman was my Grandmother
If she saw that your efforts weren’t right, she encouraged and never would excite
My Grandmother in her years in showing me the way
I still apply those principles even today
My Grandmother would often say, “Look beyond, but always remember you are among”
When I was young, I never understood what that meant
I did know later the reason why it was sent
I am more mature and those words have meaning
It’s believing in Heaven from within and everything will fall into place from that day of when
My Grandmother would often pray in the morning, noon and night
She was a praying warrior
My Grandmother never stopped believing, but always kept praising
This lasted right up to her death

A tear starts to fall thinking on her goodness
She was my Grandmother and I am a witness
My Grandmother passed away in 1994
But her remembrance is forever
Life has many journeys, a beginning, a living and an ending
My Grandmother’s legacy helped me see the sunrise and Noonday
But the sun down being an ending, I am not ready to go through
My work on Earth is not yet finished
The whole idea of Heaven is distinguished

Grandma I miss you so
But somewhere within me I feel your flow
Somewhere up there you know
Thank you for raising me, you made me the man the world can truly see.
