IT WAS TRUE WHEN I MET YOU, THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO,
TO STOP FALLING IN LOVE WITH SOMEONE LIKE YOU,
IT WAS TRUE THAT YOU COULD BE HAPPY WITH SUNSHINE,
BUT MOST WOULD BE ENVIOUS OF A FRIEND LIKE MINE,
TO PICK ME UP WHEN I'M FEELING DOWN, ALWAYS
THERE TO REMOVE A FROWN - SUCH COMFORT IS RARE TO OWN;
NOW, THAT SUNSHINE WAS INSUFFICIENT FOR THE SOUL,
ONLY A FREE SPIRIT COULD MESMERISE AND EAT YOU WHOLE;
SOME THINGS CHANGE YOUR LIFE FOREVER, AND WHETHER
THEY BE GOOD OR BAD - IT'S THE ONLY LIFE YOU'VE EVER HAD,
YOU MAY WISH TO CHANGE WHAT'S GONE BEFORE - WHAT FOR?
IT WAS YOUR DESTINY TO MAKE MISTAKES AND WHATEVER
IT TAKES TO GET BACK ON TRACK - THERE'S NO TURNING BACK,
I'M HAPPY NOW AND THERE SEEMS LITTLE THAT I LACK.
