i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
i wouldn’t have to witness
the way the blue of my eyes
have seemed to achromatize
ever since
i stopped feeling rapture
for existence.

i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
so i could avoid
the redness of the callow faces
that drift by me each day
the flush of their cheeks
filled with hope.

it makes me envious
for their sanguine blush
is untouchable to me.
i only flush red
with anger.

i wish i could only see in monochrome
like you
did you know,
our eyes are the same tint of blue?
