One particular song that comes to mind is “SHINING STAR”
Anyone can be a star, but can they shine?
Maurice White was his own shining star
Turning a ballad into a beat
Giving dancers of all ages a real treat
Mr. White knew how to make everyone dance and feel the songs with a tap of their feet
His shine being his smile in knowing he had talent
But it was the group together known as Earth, Wind and Fire
However in my terms of Satisfaction, Commitment and Desire
It was the music that made people feel the mood and love in soothe
Maurice White had nothing to prove, as it was music along that did that
But this is a memory as a look back
His singing voice had women chanting
But it was the introduction of romance being the night
Ballads after ballads of love being forever
Mr. White lived out his shining star
He is in Heaven and has gone far
Mr. White is now in Heaven’s eyes
It shouldn’t be any surprise
The music beat has come to a slow
Yet Mr. White says, just follow my flow
Earth, Wind and Fire has slowed down
Their music will still be around
To all of us here on Earth, we need to keep our feet on solid ground
Melodies are many
But it is the praises that stand out
This is Maurice White that I have been talking about
He wants us to cherish his music that made us dance
This was an opportunity being his chance
His spirit has been lifted up and advanced
His legacy stating, “Thanks for letting me entertain, but my heart of appreciation will forever always remain”.
