Daughter
Your red faced tears
Tell a story

Mother
Softly
Encourages you
Embraces you
As only she can

And for just a moment
You resist

And then I see
Your small gloved hand
Wrap around her

As you melt into the safety
Of her warmth

Perhaps
After all
It will be all right
