Closed to the World
We cling to the skin
of the knowledge we possess,
and believe it is us.
Our truths are riddled with lies,
Our lies belie the truth,
and we are left with empty
thoughts and broken promises.
Remember that the mind was meant
to be opened to the world.
It was meant to receive
as well as to expel
thoughts.
Be not tied to one understanding,
for you may find
the world will be looked upon
with misunderstanding.
