Whittling away
Observe beach
high tide
some distant storm.
Waves swirling rage foam
as scouring the beach
moving loose earth
depositing sand
detritus, **** and shells.
Whittling away the shore
over time exposing
weaker bones of
limestone and
cavities of once solid rock
Water cleanses, removes
the dead and feeble
swept, wider out
predators wait
and feast on the carrion
Same waves tease
but yet
to take me away.
