You waved goodbye to the beach
while seagulls wheeled overhead
the smell of salt sea slowly vanishing

Life seemed over never to return
with your face buried in the coming years
and all you could think of was escape

Your escape came not the way you planned
it was cheaper and easier
freedom once again filled your heart

You found yourself on the beach
while seagulls screeched overhead
the salt sea filling your lungs.
