And so the tale begins anew
my undying, unchanging, unrequited love
is cowering right beside me still
pushing the walls up, higher, higher

With soft words that soothed and saved
I built you up to be a king
I never registered the weight I gave
my childlike innocence never saw the line

So I donated myself entirely to the cause:
the creation of a better man
as I began to lose myself, I finally saw
that not i nor anyone could save you

For you were always a good man
even when clouded with rage
but it was I who gave you your crown
I entitled you to be dangerous

Your pedestal didn't crumble nor fall
you still stand on solid ground
I thought that I had outgrown it all
but the debts to my heart still withstand

There will come a time where you are a memory
just a bad dream from a past life
until then I pray to escape this temptation
for passion and lust lead to strife
