Life's way is a ruthless one,
With many tears to shed,
And heartaches to visit while I'm alone,
Wishing that I was dead.

Scars cover my skin,
Some long, some short, some deep.
Others see it as a sin,
But I see it only as company while I weep.

Loneliness shrouds me every day,
Along with the anxiety and fear,
Breaking me down in every way.
I can only hope the end is near.

People say to treasure our time on Earth,
But how can I, when I find no worth?
