The Man That Always Fell Asleep
He was in a state of time
wonderfully dark and rather profound
he derived a silken cocoon
breaking the barriers of time
Where light fell where divinity died
by the side of the river where the blind reside
where tears of angels did make the streams
that flow into the sea of dissolution and sadness
Where death travels at a steady pace
culling all and sundry of a certain race
he picked up the flowers of their mistakes
for the man that always fell asleep
Dark shadows did comb his hair and grace
last of the sleepers now truly awake
dropping out of the fabric of time
just to whisper past and future glories
He is the man that always falls asleep
with magic and secrets old he keeps
and here in slumber he does write
from the scream of day, till the dead of night
