September

The summer
fights its eternal
battle with autumn.
The tired green leaves
hang tightly to the branches.
Not understanding
the coming changes.
Summer lovers
still hold each other
In defiance of holiday romances
and schooldays.
The nights are cool
But they all proceed
as if Autumn will
Somehow
miss us this year.
