I need someone to love me
For me
With all my flaws and imperfections
Because I am perfectly
Made in God's creation

Made as me
Oh my
Though I plead
Though I cry
To be someone better fit to play this part

I need you to love me
For me
Though I'm **** sure there are more out there who'll fit snug
In a size two
Not an oversized band tee
With a muffin top
Crying every night to soft
Classic rock
In the corner of her room,
Earbuds blocking out the sound of
Impending doom

Can you gaze down at my wrists
Without turning away,
Disgusted,
Laughing,
Mocking my hurt,
My pain,
My emptiness
And take out a Sharpie
To draw a butterfly
On my wrist, right on me
To show me that you love me
And that I'm not all alone

I need you to love me for my eyes
That crinkle at the corners when I
Laugh, but really snort,
And wheeze and cry and roll around just because I love life

And I love who I am so why can't you love me?
