Nov 2015
she sets down her book and
       pours earl grey for herself

after filling her cup with warm tea,
she sets down the kettle full of tea
and takes a bag of cookies and
takes a few and places them on her plate.

she then sits back down on her chair
and opens up her book to a page,
while sipping her tea, she reads the
first few words on the top of the page:

"you have bewitched me, body and soul,
and i love, i love, i love you."

she looks softly at the words and then
she looks out the window,
        gazes at the darkness
    that swallow the clouds
but spare the bright moon

she looks back at the words and
take a bite out of the cookie and
let the sweetness overtake her mouth
as the chocolate melts on her tongue.

the bitterness of the earl grey tea and
the sweetness of the chocolate cookie
entangle each other with their differences
and embrace each other with love.
