Can you see her?
She’s invisible
The quiet girl sitting
alone in the back
of the classroom. No one
sees her pain, her tears;
all that they see are her
good grades and fake smile.
The “cool” kids torment her,
the mirror mocks her,
and her siblings refuse
to leave her alone.
She decides that she needs
to get away
from everything that
harms her heart and soul.
So she buries herself in books, in tales of
faraway lands and knights
in shining armour.
She explores alien
planets and she lives
in distant times, but too
soon, she must return
to reality and face
the world once again.
