When you left, my heart shattered. The cracks echoed through my bones, till there was nothing left of me. In that moment I was a wolves final cry to the moon, I was the final roar of a lion. I found I was simply finite. And now I realise, when you left, that this is why hurricanes are named after people. You shred your way, through our cities, through our valleys, till your destructive warpath comes to an end. Until you are just a breeze. When the hurricane is over, I will rebuild my walls, rebuild my temple. And in that moment, I realise I'll be okay.
