See me
the Model T,
an old automobile
as real as yesterday was fancy
but anyway
see me,
the engine block chock full of grime,
time was
when I shone, sadly
yesterday's gone and
I am rusted and no longer shine, but
what a time
what speed
what hunger and greed,
see me and the Model T
we forded rivers together
fought battles with rattles and
leaks, the odd squeaks, we
rocked it and now it's only
the rocking chair for me and
the occasional memory.
