Do you remember my love
Our tryst at the old Blue Bell Inn
its so long ago now.
We were both married to others at the time.
You to Harry me to Maud.
We loved ourselves silly
on that old lumpy bed in room one-eleven
God you were beautiful
I used to pray to him
and thank him every day for you.
I honestly don't know
what I would have done without you.
Religion was Maud's Lover
and I don't think Harry
ever found a pub that he could pass.
I think you gave me more ***
in a week than I got in ten years with Maud.
When I found out that I was in love with you
I was scared stiff love.
But Wednesdays were always ours at the Blue Bell.
You know we kept that up for twelve years.
Little Elsie was ours. She looks just like you love.
There's never been anyone for me but you my darling.
You were always everything to me.

The old man raised himself up slowly from the grass
leaning on his walking stick for support.
"I just wanted to drop by and say, I love you honey".
He turned to the gravestone and gently
touched her name engraved on the granite.
Its golden filigree glinting
brightly in the autumn sunshine.
As though she knew he was there.
"Bye for now Darling"
he whispered
See you next Wednesday
