Why don't we sit down a while
And you tell me your troubles
Because I'm your friend
And that's what friends are for

Why don't we take the time
To listen when the wind blows
To stop and smell the pretty rose
Rather than pass it by

Why don't we walk along
Laughing and agreeing
With words so intriguing
Just being perfect for a while

Why don't we care
When we see such desperation
Why don't we start a revolution
To change this world we're in

Why don't we sit
And talk just a little while
So I can see you smile
To hear the beating of our hearts
